I’m participating in the Trans Rights Readathon from March 20-27 and you should too!
Trans author and advocate Sim Kern created the Trans Rights Readathon as a way to support trans folks as their rights come under attack at an alarming rate across the United States.
This will come as no surprise, but I have a few poetry and short story collections at my disposal by for and about Trans folks so I will be donating $5 for every story, poem, essay I read (up to $100) from March 20-27 to Trans Lifeline.
Trans Lifeline is a peer support and crisis hotline 501 non-profit organization serving transgender people by offering phone support and microgrants. It is the first transgender crisis hotline to exist in the United States as well as Canada. It is also the only suicide hotline whose operators are all transgender.
I’ll be reading stories, poems and essays from:
If you'd like to participate you can read along with me and donate to my fundraiser (it’s linked on my Instagram page) to match or surpass my donation. You can also just share and follow Sim Kern and the hashtag #TransRightsReadathon in Instagram or TikTok.
If you can't donate, be sure to join in reading trans books, sharing about your favorite trans organizations, and learn more about what is going on in the community. Every bit helps. It’s time to show up for our Trans siblings.
